THE RETURN

Dormitory suburb.

I come home in the dark.

Beside a flower shop that’s open 24

I see a woman sitting with her legs spread

in summer dress. The night is hot.

Disheveled, smoking women.

A shop assistant? Or noone.

Asphalt beneath her legs is broken,

riped up and digged all over.

They’ll change it and put pipes.

The wrecks of asphalt looks

like litospheric plates

that cannot lie along

and push each other out.

The woman’s legs too short to reach the ground.

The flashlight. Dim light. Smoke.

What is this era?

Two thausand eighteen.

I come home.
